Cessenon has been our home for a few years now and we are learning a lot about the area. Since moving here from England, we have spent most of our time renovating two houses. La Loubière, with the Gîte is our second renovation in the village of Cessenon.
The Gite was formerly a stable and part of a wine distillery business built more than 120 years ago, we live in the adjacent house, which was formerly the packing, grain and wine making building, which still houses the wine vats.
We converted the Gîte into living quarters consisting of one bedroom, bathroom and an open plan kitchen living room area. The guest bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, a bathroom containing walk in shower and some toiletries, towels, and a hairdryer. There is a relaxed living area with an equally comfortable sofa bed and a practical self-contained kitchen. Wifi/internet is available in all areas of the property and there is a flat screen TV (with French and UK Channels), Netflix and Prime channels included.
Guests can also relax in the patio area and enjoy the calmness’ of the evening.
La Loubière, is situated in the heart of the village, nonetheless it has a tranquil atmosphere. There is a small local supermarket one minute away, a post office, two bakeries and three restaurants within the village, (a couple more during the summer months), along with a few of other shops. Once a week on a Saturday there is a small market in the village square, with a larger market ten minutes away on Sundays in Saint Chinian.
